Refund policy
Return & Refund Policy
Thank you for supporting Tread Lightly Art. Because most of what I sell is original, one-of-a-kind artwork, my return policy works a little differently than a typical retail store — here's how it breaks down by product type.
Original Paintings
All original paintings are **final sale**. Since each piece is one-of-a-kind and hand-painted, I'm not able to offer returns or exchanges for a change of mind.
**Exception — damaged in transit:** If your piece arrives damaged, contact me within **48 hours of delivery** with photos of the damage and the packaging. I'll work with you on a replacement (if a similar piece is available), a partial refund, or a full refund, depending on the situation.
Prints
Paper prints can be returned within **14 days of delivery** if unused and in their original condition. Reach out to start a return, and once I receive the print back in good condition, I'll issue a refund to your original payment method (shipping costs are non-refundable).
Apparel
Apparel (t-shirts, etc.) can be returned within **14 days of delivery** if unworn, unwashed, and in original condition. Since some designs are made to order, please double check sizing before ordering — I'm happy to answer sizing questions before you buy.
Commissioned & Custom Pieces
Custom commissions require a deposit to begin work, and **deposits are non-refundable** once painting has started, since the piece is being made specifically for you. If you need to cancel before work begins, reach out as soon as possible and I'll refund what I can.
How to Start a Return or Report an Issue
Email me at **dillonjonah@gmail.com**with your order number and a description of the issue (plus photos, if applicable). I'll get back to you within 2–3 business days with next steps.
Refunds
Once a return is approved and received, refunds are issued to your original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Questions?
If something doesn't fit into one of these categories, or you're just not sure what to do, reach out — I'd rather work it out with you directly than leave you stuck.
